Market Scout / Product 01
Make the buying decision while the item is still in front of you.
Market Scout gives resellers a structured second opinion before they purchase an item. It combines photographs and purchase facts with resale reasoning, expected costs, uncertainty, and a clear recommendation.
How it works
Enough information to make a useful call.
Take a photograph in the store or choose one already on the iPhone. Enter the asking price and select how you expect to sell the item. If a serial number, model number, UPC, maker’s mark, or other identifier is available, Investigation Mode adds it to the evidence.
Market Scout then estimates a realistic resale range, method-specific fees and shipping, expected profit, confidence, and the important facts to verify before buying.
Reading the recommendation
Guidance, not a promise.
A recommendation reflects the evidence available at that moment and the economics of the selected selling method. Market Scout is designed to surface uncertainty rather than hide it.
- Buy
- The expected margin and available evidence appear strong enough to justify the identified risk.
- Pass
- The likely economics are poor or the downside is too large for the expected return.
- Research
- A mark, model, condition issue, authenticity question, or uncertain valuation needs another check.
Built for repeat use
The record stays with the decision.
Completed analyses save automatically to the browser on that device. Saved scans preserve the item, decision, inputs, economics, reasoning, and timestamp for later review. Individual records can be reopened or deleted, and a backup can be exported.
Separate Take Photo and Choose from Photos controls support both in-the-moment shopping and earlier photographs. HEIC and HEIF images are normalized for analysis when the device requires it.
Responsible use
Keep judgment in the loop.
Market Scout supports a purchase decision; it does not guarantee identification, authenticity, resale value, buyer demand, selling time, or profit. Estimates may be incomplete or wrong, particularly when photographs are limited or an item requires specialist knowledge.
Inspect condition directly, verify important identifiers, and use additional research for expensive, rare, regulated, or safety-critical items.
Decision-support notice: Actual fees, shipping costs, sale prices, returns, taxes, and selling results vary. Market Scout is not an appraisal or a guarantee of financial outcome.
